My WealthGet Poor Because "I Deserve It" Motto

Posted Jun 2010

Due to the motto, "Because I Deserve That" women fall in financial debts

Millions of women around the world know advertising campaigns in which they are suggested that they deserve only the best. Many would say that it's not so bad. But celebrity culture is forming the opinion that women deserve just about anything and at any price - luxury handbags, clothes and expensive travel.

So Cheryl Cole, in a commercial for anti-wrinkle cream, suggests to millions of women that every women simply deserve only the best, and immediately. Who wouldn't agree with that?

But consumerist society convinces us that designer bag worth £ 300, which you cannot afford, must be yours because - you deserve it. Therefore, you should purchase it with numerous installments. We also dream of traveling to New York or some exotic destination, although currently that cost does not fit into the financial plan. But still we are embarking on a journey, because we are all convinced that - we deserve it. Painful awakening comes following month when fancy trip, that we deserve, become due. Thus 45 percent of women admitted that they are in debt because they bought clothes and shoes they cannot afford, in order to live, what they describe as comfortable life, like celebrities.

Many women also often are buying after a stressful and difficult day at work, when they want to "drive out" the problems by buying shoes, perfume, purses ... But psychologists call such behavior wrong, and compared it with that child who hate but still eat peas, and then expect an ice cream as a reward from the parents.

Excessive self-esteem leads to financial disaster, because such people believe they deserve only the best at any price. This attitude, in most cases, is not accompanied by talent, training and resourcefulness. Therefore, we should ask ourselves about do we really need anything that advertisers suggest that we deserve?

The problem, say psychologists, partly lay in numerous books on self help and advertisements that constantly assured us that we are the best in the world and a unique. Therefore, many have too high opinion of themselves. That kind of people easily „buy“ advertiser's motto „You Deserve The Best“ and spend more than it is necessary on things that they desperately „Deserve“.

The team of scientists from London University London School of Economics has revealed that too high opinion of you can be extremely harmful. Psychologist Nicholas Emler found that people with high self-esteem in many cases have racist thoughts, refuse friendly advice, and are more prone to reckless and stupid moves like driving drunk, because they think that nobody will punished them. Fools with too much confidence in most cases will be described by other people as rude and arrogant.

Also the excessive self-esteem leads to financial disaster, because such people believe they deserve only the best at any price. This attitude, in most cases, is not accompanied by talent, training and resourcefulness. Therefore, we should ask ourselves about do we really need anything that advertisers suggest that we deserve?
